summer plans, travelling and life (Q&A)

As I feel like I haven’t done one in a while and my brain is drained with no creativity, I asked you guys on twitter and on here to send me in some questions that you would like to know about me. Before reading, I’m sorry I haven’t answered everyone’s questions. I’ve done a few Q&As in the past and a lot of questions do repeat. Anyways, there are the questions and please tell me your answers to them in the question box below πŸ™‚

What is something significant (to you at least) that you have recently learnt or come to realise?

2018 has made me come to realise that self-will is strong. Despite people hurting me, I’ve been determined to not allow that to affect me for the rest of my life and to move on. However, saying that, immediately after the events I just wanted to stay inside and never go out but however, spending time on your own and focusing on yourself is good. And also, your self-will and ambition to recover will happen πŸ™‚

How do you think has this creative outlet impacted you as a person?

Hideaway Girl has been another person for me entirely. Yeah, it’s confusing but Hideaway Girl is a lot more truthful in these posts than I am in real life. Outside of the screen, sometimes finding the right words in daily life is difficult for me and sometimes, I find it hard to connect with people with my emotions because I just don’t like talking about it face to face sometimes. Although as Hideaway Girl, I’m able to express how I really think and also, be able to process life experiences that I’ve had. The continuity of my blog has helped me through some events this year.

What is the most relieving thing about not having GCSEs anymore?

I would say it would be there’s no stress anymore. GCSEs stressed me out at first but towards the end of them, I just became a zombie. However, I miss studying so much. School was shit but, studying was in some ways motivating and gave me a cause. I don’t know if that’s odd but my friend Emily feels the same so that’s comforting haha.

What are the highlights of your 2018 so far?

When it was snowing, my friend and I went to my local grave yard where we played in the snow. With this immense feeling of happiness, I took a polaroid of this beautiful scene of dark trees among the white flakes and to this day is my favourite photograph ever.

What inspires you to continue blogging?

Getting to know all of you and making bonds with one other. I’ve made friendships on here and I think it would be weird if I didn’t continue to talk to you guys. Also, it’s the emails and also the blog posts which you write addressed to me about how you enjoy reading my blog posts and how it’s inspired you to do your own which is amazing!

What’s a seemingly impossible thing that you’ve always wanted to do?

I would like to do travel blog posts full time which I’ve not always wanted to do but it’s been a thing I’ve liked the idea of for a couple of years. The reason why I don’t think it’s possible is that I wouldn’t have the money or a big enough following to gather money on it to travel and also, when I can travel, I will be focusing on either university or my career.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

After my birthday being in Paris, I have fallen in love with the city. It’s so beautiful there and I loved everything about it so it would be the perfect place for me to live if I knew how to speak French πŸ™‚

How’s life?

At the moment, it’s going well! I’m going on holiday on Saturday and then, it’s results day which I’m very nervous for haha. In the meantime, I’m just enjoying the sun and binging on Mcdondalds.

How’s your summer going? Are you doing anything exciting or are you just going to work like what a lot of my friends are doing? Tell me in the comments below πŸ™‚

Astrid X

(also sorry for the shite blog post. I like had no ideas haha)

  1. I get you on missing studying, I don’t long for it per se but I definitely have the feeling of not being productive and I feel guilty for “wasting time” even though that’s one of the point of summer and not having anything to do. But I’m sure I’ll be missing summer a lot more when it’s time to face sixth form.

  2. Great post! There’s nothing like a good ol’ q&a πŸ™‚
My summer plans (apart from making sure I don’t forget all the stuff I learnt last year at school haha) I’m going to London for a week, re-decorating my room and hopefully meeting with friends often (although so far, unlike meπŸ˜‚ all my friends have lives so they’ve been too busy to meetπŸ˜”)
I hope you have a great summer, and good luck for results day later this month πŸ™‚ x
