My resolutions and maybe vlogging?

Hi,everyone! How’s been your start to the New Year? Mine has been busy, busy, busy. Even though my exams have been moved, it still means that I will be revising my arse off even more. I only have 7 hours of revision to do this weekend so it doesn’t seem too bad but I had 2 hours of revision every night for next week so I’m going to be exhausted at the end of it.

So my resolutions this year are probably as impossible as last year (I did about 30 minutes of exercise but it ended just with me watching the video rather than actually doing the running and jumping, whoops). Anyway, here they are:

  1. Read 35 books! I read 29 books this year so this may be a little bit of a squeeze but maybe I should read more and stop obsessing over Gilmore Girls (yes, I’m that basic).
  2. Eat a little more healthy! The only days I’m allowed to eat junk is Friday as I’ve gotten through the school week.
  3. Write a little story! If you’ve been reading me for a while, you may remember that I tried to do this fiction story but it failed so this year or summer, I’m going to write something at least.
  4. Love myself a little more. I need to actually stop looking at myself disgusted and start loving how my eyebrows are like slugs… this may take time, haha πŸ™‚

A lot of new bloggers have been commenting on my posts asking how I got ‘popular’. Well, it’s taken nearly 2 years to get to nearly 1000 followers so it takes time and patience. For me, followers and views don’t really affect me. I love to connect with my blogging friends, however, I feel like I would still continue blogging even if I had 20 followers in these 2 years. I feel like you shouldn’t care about followers, it just makes blogging a job and that is rubbish in Β my opinion.

My mini rant is over now.

Also, I may start vlogging again. I have a new iphone 6 and it has a really good camera so I think maybe it’s time for you to see a little bit more of my life but I won’t introduce Carlos into vlogging just yet incase something happens or whatever but I will make sure to be vlogging with my friends πŸ™‚

Sorry for the little update but I must go and start sorting out my revision timetable,

Hideaway Girl xxx

  1. Good Luck With Your Resolutions & Congrats On Your New iPhone! 😊 I have an iPhone 6 too & I have to agree the camera is great – (you can check my iPhone photography via my blog). I also agree that you shouldn’t really care about followers & stuff. I’m quite new to the blogging world & it’s a great feeling to do something you love & that makes you happy! Good Luck with your exams! I take IGCSE’s & I have ‘mock’exams in my 8 subjects next week πŸ˜– (check my post ‘Failing To Study’ – I’m sure you’ll love it!)
Btw I love your blogging style & I think your posts are great! Keep up the great work! Also, if you don’t mind, check out my blog – I’d love to hear your thoughts! *sorry if this was too long* ❀️❀️❀️

  2. I love your blog! I just started my own and it makes me so happy to just have a place where I can right about everything and anything. And I think it does help a little to have subscribers, because you can use that as motivation to not slack off on blogging.

      1. Hahah. I can see what you mean. I just started blogging every single day, and although I love it, it is a bit of work, but only because I’m going away for two weeks so I had to schedule fourteen blog posts. But I like having something to remember for each day!

  3. I’ve always wanted to vlog, but I don’t think I like the idea of talking to a camera in public (which beats the whole purpose of vlogging lol). Anyway, good luck on your resolutions.

  6. Hey Hideaway Girl. I’ve just recently found your blog but I really like it so far. I’ve been reading blogs for a little while but I just recently started my own because of all the wonderful ones like yours that I’ve seen! I love Gilmore girls too, and even if it makes you and i “basic”, I feel like we should all own what we love to watch and do because that’s part of who we are (Okay that was my own mini rant). Thanks for being such an inspiration xx

  7. Hey I’m new here, and can I just say that trying to exercise is the worst. Well at least trying to find motivation to get out of bed and of my computer, Walter. One of my New Years resolutions was to exercise and eat healthier but I think I’ve already failed seeing as I’ve yet to hit the gym and I had ice-cream yesterday…

      1. Also on the topic of fame for blogging I totally agree with you. I’ve just started my own blog and it makes me so infinitely happy even though my mom and best friend are the only ones who read it. In my opinion, it’s not about the views. It’s about your passion for what you do and what you write about.

  8. Honestly it feels like you’ve been around for ever, and you’re one of my biggest blocking inspirations. The fact that you always try to remain positive, as well as encouraging people to do the same, is just amazing. Those are some great new years resolutions, and I hope you’re feeling okay! Keep being a great person I know you to be, and I am always here when you need to talk XX

    1. Thank you Elm! I feel like we’ve know each other on this blogging world for ages and it’s kinda weird but in a good way πŸ™‚
I’m not always positive not going to lie, I’ve taken a tiny break on here to just figure out some stuff.
I’m feeling the pressure at the moment at school so I don’t know when I’m going to post next but I will be posting this weekend hopefully. Even writing this comment makes me miss writing 😦

  10. Hey!

29 books in 2016 is amazing… if you squeeze in the extra 6, that would be incredible. You must have such an immense collection of knowledge. That is a great weapon to have in this world!

If you haven’t read ‘The Shadow of the Wind’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, I really, really recommend it!

All the best and lovely blog!
