‘Oh god. Another post about pressure.’

Okay as you may or not have seen, I just deleted a post which took me a while to write. It wasn’t anything awful or anything but when I looked back on it, it looked stupid.

Recently, I’ve been feeling pressure on my blog, schoolwork and in my social life. I know you are probably rolling your eyes and thinking ‘oh god. Another post about pressure’ but I want to get it out of my system.

Reasons how I feel pressure on my blog

  1. Posting everyday. It feels like I have to post everyday to make myself and you guys happy. If I don’t, I feel like I have failed and become less unpopular.
  2. Views. I know that I shouldn’t care about views and followers. But nowadays, I’m actually kinda well and it makes me feel good but I feel like if that goes away, I won’t feel like I’ve achieved something.
  3. Reading your posts. I follow alot of you guys back and posts build up massively. Going through them and commenting on them, take lots of time. I do enjoy it but it takes up a lot of my writing time and makes me feel panicked in a way.
  4. My content. I feel like every post I do has to be perfect or else, there is no point. This week, I didn’t post for two days but I did write on both days but I deleted the posts because they weren’t good enough.
  5. Who looks at my posts. I want to start writing about my life again on here and how I feel. I can’t do that on here any more because a few of my friends and my parents read my blog. It doesn’t feel personal.

I will continue blogging of course, I love it too much to stop but I feel like this past 2 months have been very pressurizing.

Reasons how I feel pressure on my schoolwork

  1. Exams. I have a maths exam on Tuesday which is getting to me because I’m totally not prepared for this and my teacher ONLY told me yesterday what we are meant to be revising for. There are 16 topics. That means I’m meant to do 5.5 topics a day which means 5 HOURS a day! Are you kidding me?!!
  2. Projects. My business studies project is going shit to be honest. All the other teamsa re doing really well and well, we weren’t doing as good.
  3. I don’t know what I want to be. My friends have it all figure it out, some want to go to law uni and others want to be in the drama industry. I don’t know what the hell I want to be and it’s hard around friends who work hard.
  4. Piano. I love playing the piano but I feel like I have to be good at it. I have to lots of work for that as well.
  5. I want to make my parents proud and it feels like I haven’t.

Reasons how I feel pressure on my social life

  1. Feeling like to odd one out. I feel like everyone around me now are beautiful and loads of boys like them. And then there is me. The girl that everyone looks last at.
  2. Not fitting in. I don’t fit in with my group now or any group at all. I don’t fit in with any friendship group at school. I just feel like I don’t fit in.
  3. Having to look good. I always want to look good and wear the right stuff.
  4. Not being the right person. I feel like I’ve been muddled up and stupid.People have told me that I need to sort myself out and I do.

  1. Trust me, everyone feels pressure like that on exams and social life. Like me. But the blog? Dont pressurize urself, or ur posts wont be good. Post only when u feel like it, and only for urself. Write in it like a journal. We love you. 🙂

  2. think about what pressure actually is, what does it mean to you? It’s a very general word, but maybe try to think about the emotions associated with the specific pressure you’re feeling with each issue. Maybe this way you’ll be able to find the root cause of your anxieties.

    Specifically in terms of blogging, I also find it really difficult to post regularly. Recently, I’ve been posting 2-3 times a week, which obviously effects my stats. But as long as I’m proud of those 2-3 posts it doesn’t matter. The opinion you have on yourself is the most important thing and maybe that is what you need to strengthen.

  3. I honestly think you are really hardworking and posting everyday is definitely not an easy task…again, I love your blog. I just want to wish you all the best for your maths exam and for your amazing blog! I think you should do your S.W.O.T analysis and maybe you can find the solution of your problems, what you wanna be in future and when you’ll know what you wanna do, you’ll have an aim and probably your social life can improve just first love yourself, because I think you have a good sense of humour and your Awesome!!

  4. Honestly, I am feeling so much pressure. But you need to remember that you are the one putting pressure and you can control it! I can’t believe you blog everyday-I find it difficult uploading twice a week so I don’t know how your doing it! It sounds like you have a lot of pressures in different areas, I suggest looking and evaluating them and seeing how you can deal with them. Also, prioritise your pressures, it may mean you can’t blog everyday-but thats okay!

    We are all here for you and you can always catch up with blogs on your breaks from revision, school or just life in general! I think your doing an amazing job-and if you are going to put pressure on yourself, make sure your doing so it makes you do better for yourself, not anyone else! Everyone will be proud of you no matter what you do xx

    1. Thankyou, I think tomorrow I’m going to make a schedule of what to do and maybe that will help me out.You’re right, I’m the one that’s putting pressure on me and I need to control it 🙂

Remember this is YOUR blog and we will all love it no matter when and what you post 😊 if you put too much pressure on yourself you won’t enjoy it as much! Also I totally get you on the feeling like the odd one out thing – but you’re so special to so many people in this blogging community and don’t forget that! Also don’t worry about who you want to be – I still don’t know and I’m sure your parents are already proud of you 💗 For your maths test just revise for the topics that you need more practise on and remember this maths test won’t affect your whole life it’s not like it’s gonna ruin your whole future 😊 xxxx

      This maths test feels a lot less scary now after your suggestion of revising the topics where I have no clue in which is still a lot but I think I will be able to do it 🙂

  7. It’s okay to be stressed we all get stressed, and it is a pain! But remember that it is completely your choice, how seriously you take your blog. You don’t need to be feeling pressured to post every single day. School is hard. It’s really bloody hard sometimes but you are going to revise for that test and you are going to try your very hardest. And as for social pressure…. I definitely know how that feels. But once you find the right friends, you’ll find that it’s a lot better, so good luck finding those people. 🙂

  8. I agree on everything on this post especially the blogging ones . I too feel super pressured to post everyday too because it seems like that’s the only way people would keep up with you . And I obsess over views because I want to know all the time if somebody really did take the time to read it. But posting everyday can also have its downsides because first I don’t think I can post a good content if I’m worrying so much about having it done in a limited amount of time . I do admire people who post everyday and are consistent with it but I’m so stressed trying to get trought every post and reading and commenting and that makes me give up sometimes because it’s just too much. I solved that problem for me by unfollowing blogs that are not that active or I have no connection to . I use to have over a 100 followings but now I only have 41 and I think it’s helping because It makes it easier to read and focus more on the blogs that are active .
    I want you to know that you don’t need to feel like you have to post everyday because it just puts more stress on you. I know I haven’t been the most active reader these year but I’m feeling better than before so I would focus more on reading and connecting with you and others more .
    I love your blog especially the way you write and the layout( the header is really pretty and cool ).

    1. Thank you for writing this comment, this must have taken you ages! I feel a bit guilty when I unfollow blogs because a lot of them are really nice and friendly readers but hopefully, they will understand that. I think I need to settle down on my blog and be comfortable with it and not worry what others think. I love your blog and it’s crazy to think how I am talking to someone who lives in another continent. I’m glad you like my header and thanks again for supporting me and my blog 🙂

  9. aww, try not to put too much pressure on yourself. It seems like you have a lot going on, remember that not everything has to be perfect. Like I know this is easier said than done, but sometimes 75% is the best you can do. (I hope that made sense) I hope things get better for you ❤

  10. It’s probably not going to help because despite reassurances, the worries doesn’t go away. But your readers won’t disappear if your posts aren’t daily. And I’m sure you know that because you mentioned you don’t post daily yet they’ll still here. =)

    I so understand what you mean about the “I don’t know what to do for the future” thing. I’ve been worrying over this every year. Especially this year. Every time a person asks me “what subjects are you best at?” in an attempt to help me decide, I’ll secretly get upset. What year/grade are you in if you don’t mind my asking?

  11. girl, I understand pressure. I’m a super high achiever, where basically anything below a B+ is beyond me if I care about the subject. Exams also hit me heard with stress > pressure > anxiety and the cycle is the same with everything else I stress about.

    ALSO YOUR FUTURE. Don’t stress. I’ve spent countless hours stressing, worrying, panicking and having anxiety over my future bc I have no idea what I want to do in my life. Like deciding your career at 17/18? Talk about pressure! (also I suck at making decisions). Remember, what you choose isn’t final. You have the liberty to change courses, universities and career pathways throughout your entire life. Yes, it may be a bit more inconvenient, but life IS inconvenient. You may have the friend like me who makes you feel like utter crap bc they knew what uni, course, career, job and how many children they wanted and what to name them since she was 15, and I can’t even decide on an ice cream flavour. REMEMBER THAT IT IS OKAY TO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.

    also, do yourself a favour and don’t feel pressurised to post every day. Post every couple of days, or even once a week if that suits you better! As long as you’re happy with your content, the frequency of it shouldn’t matter as much (:
